What is Conti-Wave?

Conti-Wave machining reduces chain noise by minimizing the contact surface against the chain. The chain enters the rear derailleur at various angles. The Conti-Wave tooth profile, designed for the lower pulley, ensures smooth pulley-and-chain engagement regardless of the gear position. The continuous chamfered form on the teeth's edge reduces the contact area between the teeth and chain inner plates by 82.5%, further increasing efficiency while perfectly guiding the chain.

TOKEN Shuriken were built for durability and low maintenance.
Stealth Lube™ is a high-performance lubricant engineered specifically for TOKEN's ceramic pulley bearings. It is formulated with ultra-low viscosity refined base oil that penetrates deeply, reduces friction, and operates cleanly under high RPM and micro-tolerance conditions. Silent in action. Relentless in speed.

Q: What’s the difference between SRAM road AXS (12s-electronical) derailleurs?

A: Technically, it's the material of the pulley cage plates, the shape of the outer parallelogram link, surface treatment of some parts, and the pulley bearings that are different. The pulley cages of the three models are interchangeable.

Q: Then what’s the difference between SRAM standard road AXS derailleurs and XPLR models?

A: The upper knuckle and the pulley cage are different. On XPLR models, the upper knuckle is longer (and has a different aesthetic) and the pulley cage has the upper pulley off-center placed from the pivot. These changes are for compatibility with up to a 44T lowest cog. The pulley cages of the XPLR models are interchangeable too.

Q: Can I modify my standard road AXS derailleur to XPLR?

A: Since the upper knuckle and the outer parallelogram link are permanently assembled together in the factory, you will need to replace the upper knuckle entirely with the outer link and the complete pulley cage. Note that one of the end caps of the upper pulley is different on XPLR models. This modification is technically possible but could be costly.

Q: So, which models of AXS derailleurs is Shuriken TK1759XS compatible with?

A: I'm glad you asked. The Shuriken TK159XS is compatible with standard road AXS derailleurs, which include Red, Force.

Q: What will happen if I upgrade my XPLR AXS derailleur with Shuriken TK1759XS?

A: Your XPLR derailleur will look cooler, run smoother, but cassette compatibility will be limited. You might feel better, but overall performance is not guaranteed.
